Ujjain: Health employees demand travel allowance

Ujjain: Health employees demanded payment of travel allowance (TA) to the CMHO, which has not been released for the past four years to employees working in the field, under many schemes of the government.

The New Bahuuddeshiya Swasthy Karmchari Sangh functionaries MR Mansoori and SP Ahirwar led employees group, met the CMHO and said not releasing TA had caused health employees severe financial loss, and hence the TA should be released on humanitarian grounds at the earliest.

District secretary Parmanand Katariya informed that a memorandum in connection with various demands of the health employees’ was handed over to the CMHO. Divisional secretary Sanjay Sisoudiya, SP Ahirwar, Neelam Dongre, Sunita Dharwal, Asha Dongre Sushma Tiwari, Hamid Khan, Rajkumari, Shakuntalal Koushal, Sangita Dhana, Shobha Shrivastava, Naveen Pande and Sanjay Puraiya were present.


Ujjain: Applicants to now select houses after online registration

Ujjain: Ujjain Development Authority (UDA) chairman Jagdish Agrawal held a time limit meeting on Wednesday and instructed that 173 buildings of the UDA will be made available for selection only after a registration of Rs 1000 is done online. Confirmation of registration will be done after the applicant deposits 10 percent of the value of the building.

UDA CEO Abhishek Dubey informed that previously, an online registration was done and the applicant was able to select the house, only after depositing the full value of the house. But, as per instructions of chairman, the houses will be now available for selection after the online registration.

He also gave instructions to increase the time limit to deposit the 10 percent value of house, from 15 days to a month and half. He said that no applicant should bear a loss because of delay in availability of bank loans or inability to deposit money on time. Agrawal also gave orders to present information on the two vacant UDA properties in Nanakheda bus stand premises and asked officials concerned to inspect these sites every fortnight, to check for illegal encroachment.

He also reprimanded the in-charges of the technical, project and property branches and said even after repeated instructions they were unable to provide full information on vacant properties. Agrawal warned of strict action in case of any further delay.

Ujjain: Over exploitation has led to environmental crisis says Dr Amita Patki

Ujjain: Prof Dr Amita Patki of Nagpur presented a lecture highlighting the scientific basis of Indian environmental protection, on the third day of the lecture series organised by Dr Hedgewar Janm Shatabdi Smriti Seva Nyas, in the memory of Dr Hedgewar at Madhav Seva Nyas.

Addressing the audience, key note speaker Dr Patki said “Our environment and culture are eroding as people have been adapting Western culture. We had a rich environmental heritage but after emulating foreign culture coupled with our arbitrary nature, we are now suffering. Humans have started to consider themselves as superpowers, but instead of protecting nature, they have started exploiting it so much, that we are now facing an environmental crisis”.

She also pointed out that people were destroying the earth in the name of development. “We are releasing far more amounts of carbon dioxide than a tree could absorb and hence there is imbalance in nature”, she added.

Dr Patki also called the government tree plantation schemes a scam, and said if the decided number of trees were actually planted, there would be greenery everywhere. She also asked people to save the seeds of the vegetables and fruits and plant them in rainy season.

The programme began with a Lord Krishna prayer conducted by Yukta Ratnaparkhi. Durga Chaudhary introduced the guests. Kiran Solanki and Manisha Thakur welcomed the guests. Dr Lalita Pendharkar presided over the programme. Nidhi Sharma sang Vande Mataram. Dr Smita Karajgaonkar conducted the programme and Rajesh Patidar proposed the vote of thanks.

Ujjain: Grand foot march to mark Parshuram Jayanti

Ujjain: Regional meetings were organised in Sandipani Nagar, Dhancha Bhawan, Pushpanjali Nagar, Rajendra Nagar, Indira Nagar, Gayatri Nagar, Nijatpura and Bhagsipura, to appeal to members of Brahmin community to participate in the foot march to be organised by Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Samaj on April 18 on Parshuram Jayanti.

In the meetings, all members of Brahmin community were asked to enroll their children into a camp to teach them Vedic worship methods and rituals. This camp will be organised free of cost at Gopal Dham by the Brahmin Samaj from May 1, and will continue for one and a half months.

Ujjain: Ecstatic Panchkroshi wayfarers reach encampments ahead of schedule

Ujjain: Devotees who set out on the Panchkroshi yatra a day before schedule, reached the second point of encampment on Wednesday. A handful of ‘yatris’, also managed to reach Karohan, their third official halt.

Unofficial sources said the Panchkroshi wayfarers may begin to return by Friday. The devotees have seven encampments during the journey. During the journey, the devotees are being served by many social organisations.

These orgnisations arranged tea and meals for them. Community members and volunteers of the Patidar community also arranged tea, cold drinks and snacks at Raghopipliya village. Spokespersons Mukesh Patidar and Manoj Patel informed that Congress leader Umeshsingh Sengar, Manoharlal Patidar, Narayan Patel and many members were present.

Ujjain: Vehicle rally on Jyotiba Phule Jayanti

Ujjain: Two vehicle rallies were taken out by Pichhda Varg Samagra Mali Samaj from Piplinaka square and Yantra Mahal square on the 191th birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on Wednesday at 10 am.

According to Ashok Bhati and Kundan Mali, youths, workers and heads of the Marwari Mali Samaj, Rami Gujarati Mali Samaj, Phool Mali Samaj, Mewara Mali Samaj, Sagarwanshi Mali Samaj, Phool Brigade, Akhil Bharatiya Mali Samaj and Sanyukt Mali Samaj participated in the rally.

Both the rallies merged into one at Harsiddhi Temple square, and reached Indira Nagar after passing through the main roads of the city. The statue of Phule was garlanded at Indira Nagar. The rally concluded at Yantra Mahal square.

Ujjain: Drizzle makes city weather pleasant

Ujjain: A light drizzle made the city weather pleasant on Wednesday evening though the maximum temperature remained same as the day before. Beginning at around 3.30 pm, the scattered drizzle continued for about 2 hours. The scattered nature of the drizzle was a result of localized formation of clouds.

Jiwaji Observatory in-charge Deepak Gupta informed that the drizzle was a result of the cyclonic circulation over east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar due to which, humid eastern winds were flowing. He also informed that the local clouds were formed due to these humid eastern winds.

There was no dip in the maximum temperature but the minimum temperature increased from 21 degrees Celsius on Monday night to 23.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday night. This happened due to the localized clouds above the city. A slight rainfall also occurred in the neighbouring cities of Indore and Dewas two days ago.

Residents rejoiced as the weather became pleasant and it was a relief from the scorching heat of the sun. Many people came out of their houses and enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere.

Ujjain: Congress men ‘gherao’ SP office

Ujjain: Several Congress men led by Ujjain Lok Sabha Youth Congress President Hemant Singh Chauhan ‘gheraoed’ the office of the Superintendent of Police on Wednesday, and handed over a memorandum to ASP Manish Khatri.

This was being done to protest against the continuous harassment of congress leaders and workers, by the police administration and also against prohibiting Nagda’s opposition leader Subodh Swami along with 6 other corporators from indulging in any kind of demonstration and taking action against them under section 107/116 for political malice.

They alleged that the police had tried to suppress the protest by imposing criminal clauses on the protesters and political malice charges were slapped on them by Nagda TI Ajay Verma. They demanded that a complete investigation should be done in this case. Cong men also said that if this was repeated, they would stage grand protests.

Ujjain: Brahmins need to take charge of reviving Indian culture says Akhilesh Maharaj

Ujjain: A Brahm sammelan was organised by Shri Parshuram Yuva Brahmin Sangathan to mark ‘Parshuram darshan yatra,’ which will be held from Mahakaleshwar temple on Parshuram Jayanti on April 18.

Key note speaker Pt Akhilesh Maharaj said Brahmins should understand that they cannot work with peace and forgiveness in the present day world and needed to use their rich ancient texts and formulae to bring about a revolution in the country. He further said a revolution was required to revive the dying Indian culture.

Information commissioner Hiralal Trivedi also took a satirical dig at the present reservation system in the country. Shri Parshuram Yuva Brahmin Sangathan founder president, Rajesh Trivedi and Shravan Sharma informed that the programme began with a lamp lighting ceremony by the guests. The welcome speech was given by the organisation president Girish Pathak.

Giving the outline of the yatra, Ajayshankar Joshi informed that for the first time, women would lead the rally, dressed in saffron and pink sarees. Padmashri Keshavrao Sadashiva Shastri Moosalgaonkar was honored by the Brahmin Samaj in the programme. His son Rajeshwar Shastri Moosalgaonkar received the honor, as he was unwell.

Ujjain: Rainfall brings relief from heat in city

Ujjain: A downpour accompanied by thunderstorm and gusty winds lashed the city on Thursday. The afternoon rains brought a huge relief to residents, who were reeling under the heat.  The impact of rain was visible as a significant dip in the mercury was noticed.

The maximum temperature decreased from 38.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday to 36.5 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The minimum temperature also decreased by 3 degrees Celsius and was recorded as 20.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday night.

According to Jiwajiganj observatory in-charge, Deepak Gupta, humidity oscillated between 52 and 49. Winds blew at a speed of 6 kmph and 0.4 mm of rain was recorded. Similar weather is expected to continue till Saturday. The rain started around 3 pm and continued for about half an hour. The sudden turnaround in weather caught many people off guard and they were seen running for cover. Sun shone bright after the rain stopped. In many areas, a power outage was also reported.

There was also a hailstorm in some parts of the State like Guna, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri and Tikamgarh. The change in weather has been attributed to cyclonic circulations above eastern states and a trough coming from the western states of Gujarat and Maharastra. The sudden change in weather has also increased the problems of farmers. According to reports, tonnes of wheat kept in Nagda Krishi Upaj Mandi got wet. In other regions, worried farmers were reluctant in taking out their crops due to uncertain weather conditions.

Ujjain: MP Chintamani Malviya observed a fast on Thursday taking a dig at the Congress for halting Parliament every other day.

Malviya alleged that Congress undemocratically and irresponsibly created hindrances to disrupt the smooth functioning of the parliament, which caused a loss of Rs 9 crore per day to the national exchequer.

His supporters, party leaders and volunteers also observed the fast. Malviya also accused the Congress of displaying utter disrespect to the ‘dalits’ by faking a fast. He said members of parliament of NDA would “forgo their salary and allowances” for this session of the parliament.

Ujjain: Clerks, class IV employees on strike for two days

Ujjain: Government clerical staff and class 1V employees went on a two day strike and assembled at Tower Chowk in Freeganj on Thursday, protesting against the state government for redressal of their seven demands.

Routine working in the district hospital, education department and other government offices was affected due to the strike. According to employees’ divisional head Premchand Nahar, at least 350 government employees in the city participated in the  strike.

Nahar said in many hospitals of the district routine work remained affected due to strike. In the morning the outdoor patient department (OPC) of the government hospital remained locked for some hours. Clerical class employees’ association district head Dinesh Gothwal said working of government offices functioned at snails’ pace. He added that clerical class employees demanded removal of discrepancies in salary structure, and asked for regularisation of temporary clerks and  fixing 25 years’ of service for pension.

Gothwal informed that apart from this, there were some more demands related to employees’ welfare. He also clarified that an indefinite strike will be organised if demands were not met by the government. The leader further said 4 lakh employees across the state were on strike to support six state level employees organisations.

Spokesperson Vikas Purohit informed that Motilal Nirmal, Arun Rojwani, Prakash Jain, Lata Kundgale Anil Malviya, Kamlesh Vadiya, Dilip Pange, Chitresh Baghe, Vijaysing Thakur, Chitrang Dohre, Premchand Nahar, KN Sharma, Vikas Purohit, Rakesh Khandekar, Ajay Johari, Alok Raghuvanshi, Vijay Jain and Rajesh Akhand were present.

Ujjain: Illegal colonies to be regularised

Ujjain: The official in charge of the colony cell has informed that as per the orders of the State Government, such private illegal colonies which came into existence till December 31, 2016 and were not located on main roads, gardens, cultural areas, Simhastha Fair property, river, pond or green belt, will be legalised after authorities conducted physical verification.

Municipal commissioner Dr Vijay Kumar J handed over a zone-wise list to officials for physical verification. Colonisers and residents of Mayapuri, Yadav Colony, Virat Nagar, Chintaman Nagar, Bapu Nagar, Rajendra Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Annapurna Nagar, Maa Durga Colony, Chandra Nagar, Gumaste Dwara, Pakki colony of Begam Makbara, Priti Nagar, Rudrasagar Ganesh Colony, Colony near Mahakal Sindhi Colony, Anand Nagar, Prabhu Nagar, Rami Nagar, Shri Nagar, Dhanni Bai Colony, Hariya Khedi, Shakkarvaasa, Goyala Khurd, Maitri Nikunj, Amrit Nagar, land belonging to Ramesh Pappu and Mayur Nagar may be benefitted with the decision of the government.

Ujjain: Two youths disappear mysteriously from civil hospital

Ujjain: Two youths admitted to the civil hospital disappeared mysteriously on Wednesday night at around 3 am. When their family members could not find them even after vigorous search efforts, they gave a memorandum addressed to the superintendent of police to the ASP and urged that the youths be located.

Panwasa resident Tej Singh informed that his son Mahendra Singh was attacked by four men, Kalyan Singh, Ravi Singh, Gabbar Singh and Pankaj Singh on April 10 at 11 am. Mahendra was admitted to the civil hospital in ward B on bed number 18, as he sustained injuries. On Wednesday night, Mahendra mysteriously disappeared along with his friend Baal Chand.

A missing person report was also filed in Kotwali police station but no clue of the youths was found. Tej Singh requested the ASP to find his son by going through CCTV footages of the hospital and also by interrogating the on duty staff on Wednesday night.

Ujjain: UMC’s 319 temporary employees get confirmation certificates

Ujjain: A permanent order-delivery distribution function was organised for 319 temporary employees of the Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) under the regularization scheme at UMC premises, on Friday evening. It was the first time in the history of the UMC that such a large number of employees were being confirmed.

Chief guest of the programme energy minister Paras Jain distributed confirmation certificates to 304 sanitation workers and 15 employees of UMC offices, thus giving permanent certificates to 319 employees. The programme was attended by mayor Meena Jonwal, MLA Mohan Yadav, speaker Sonu Gehlot, MP State Employees Welfare Council president Ramesh Sharma, BJP president Iqbal Singh Gandhi and other guests, corporators and employees. The welcome speech was given by Nilurani Khatri. Additional commissioner Ravindra Jain informed that the regularization will double the salary of the employees.

Later, regularization certificates were distributed by the guests to Mukesh, Arjun, Suresh, Shahnazbi, Sunder Hazari, Ajay and Sheikh Dilawar Jumma. All the remaining employees were also given certificates at their work places.


Ujjain: Former MLA Rodmal Rathore’s vehicle set on fire

Ujjain: Former MLA from Tarana, Rodmal Rathore’s vehicle was set on fire on Thursday night. The vehicle was parked outside his house in Mahananda Nagar, when some unknown miscreants sprinkled petrol on the vehicle and set it on fire.

Within minutes the Scorpio as well as the sun shade turned to ashes. A similar incident had occurred on April 8, when some unknown miscreants vandalized the same Scorpio belonging to Rathore.

According to the CCTV footages, two masked men were seeb setting the vehicle on fire around 1.40 am on Thursday night. Rathore controlled the fire with the help of some neighbours. A second incident in one week has left the Rathore family terrorized. They even fear that the miscreants could attack family members anytime and  also suspect that the miscreants could be same in both incidents.

DIG Raman Sing Sikarwar assured Rathore that he would be provided with two guards for the safety of the family and their property. On Friday morning, Nanakheda police staff reached Rathore’s house and inspected the CCTV footages.

Ujjain: Class-III employees form human chain on concluding day of strike

Ujjain: The agitating clerical employees formed a human chain around Tower Chowk on the second and final day of their state-wide strike on Friday, in support of their 7-point demands under the leadership of the Government Class-III Clerical Employees Union.

The Union’s district president Dinesh Gothwal said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had assured them that their demands would be met within two months. No action has been taken so far. Six major employees organisations viz clerical employees union, mantralaya employees union, class-III employees union, small scale employees union, revenue employees union and municipal employees union had called the strike.

In support of the call, about four lakh officials and employees were on mass leave,  demanding that the grade pay should be upgraded and made equal to the computer operator; discrepancy in the accountant pay should be removed from January 1, 96; the recovery due to the discrepancy of the rules should be stopped immediately’ part-time clerks and part-time peons should be regularized like part-time teachers, the Class-IV employees should be fully exempted from the professional tax and get benefit of the 7th Pay Commission.

Prominent among those present during the agitation included Motilal Nirmal,  Mansingh Chauhan, Lakshminarayan Gupta, Arjun Malviya, Kamlesh Tiwari, Anil Malviya, Dinesh Nagar, Bhupendra Yadav, Usha Kashyap, Vidya Soni, Kailash Ramteke and Dilip Page.

Ujjain: Congress men and farmers protest at Krishi Upaj Mandi

Ujjain: Farmers stopped Mandi proceedings and staged a protest at Krishi Upaj Mandi in lieu of their demands and complaints like implementation of a faulty Bhawantar scheme, farmers not benefitting from the scheme and not getting information on buying crops through SMS. The protest was organised by the District Congress Committee (DCC) in the presence of district president, Jai Singh Darbar.

Addressing farmers, Mandi vice president Sheru Patel said the entire Bhawantar scheme was a fraudulent one by the Madhya Pradesh Government. He further said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had given false hope to the farmers in the name of various schemes, where in reality they were not getting payments from the Bhawantar scheme. “Farmers do not receive any information about the sale of chana, masoor and mustard. Garlic is also being sold at low prices,” he added. Patel requested farmers not to tolerate the injustice done to them. `

After the protest, a memorandum addressed to governor and collector was also handed over to a senior administrative officer. Zila Panchayat President Mahesh Parmar, former MLA Ramlal Malviya, Hemant Singh Chauhan, Vicky Yadav, Mandi Director Kamal Singh Hirawat, Maya Trivedi, Ravi Rai, Vasudev Rawal, Babusingh Panwar, Madan Lal Gujarati, Tejkaran Malviya, Sanjay Verma, Bahadur Singh Depan, Umesh Patel, Gabbar Thakur, Javed Patel, Kailash Jat, Yash Patel, Mahesh Patel, Dharmendra Baghela, Jagdish Meena and other farmers were present along with Congress men.

Ujjain: BJP’s party flag breaks turret of tower

Ujjain: A turret of the Tower supporting the iron pipes and angles installed to hoist the BJP’s flag on its foundation day broke, while the pipes and flag were being removed, on Thursday night.

Damage to the city’s historic building brought in sharp reactions, as many infuriated organizations including the Congress asked the administration to take strict and immediate action against the culprits.

The foundation day was celebrated on April 6 for which the, BJP’s flag was hoisted at a height of more than 100 feet with the support of iron pipes. These pipes were tied to the pillars and turrets of the galleries of all the three floors of the Tower. For the programme, a grand stage was also set up with the tower in the backdrop. Even after the programme ended, the organizing committee neither removed the flag nor the iron pipes and angles. On Thursday night, these pipes were being removed when the turret broke and a wide crack came up in the gallery wall.

Congress men give application in Madhav Nagar police staion

Infuriated Congress leaders reached Madhav Nagar police station on Friday. and demanded the police to take action against the BJP urban unit President Iqbal Singh Gandhi and his companions for damaging Government property and a historic building of the city. Congress leader Umeshsingh Senger said no political party had the right to hoist party flag on a government building.

Yet the BJP had hoisted the flag and due to their carelessness while taking it down, broke the turret of the tower. Congress leaders including former MP Satyanarayan Panwar, Vivek Yadav, Rajesh Tiwari, Anju Jatava, Chandrapal Lekoda, Sanju Malaviya and Keshvendra Parmar filed an application in Madhavnagar police station and demanded to file an FIR, under section 3 of the property defacement act, against BJP leaders and programme organisers. Congress leader Deepak Mehre also requested the police administration to take action against the culprits.

Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Goraksha Mahasabha condemn act

Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Goraksha Mahasabha also condemned the act. The organisation’s state president Manish Singh Chauhan, Krishna Malviya, Nandkishor Patidar, Rajveer Singh Chauhan and other members demanded senior administrative officers to take action against the BJP workers for damaging government property and send them to jail.

Administration plays blame game

When contacted by Free Press, SDM Kshitij Sharma said the building was Ujjain Municipal Corporation’s property and that he had nothing to do with the matter. Madhav Nagar TI Gagan Badal said the police was only responsible for providing security for programmes. Giving permission to organise a programme was the administration’s job. Even after repeated efforts, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Dr Vijay Kumar J could not be contacted.

Programme convener declines accusations

BJP Art and Culture convener and foundation day programme organiser Anil Dharme said that they had taken the permission to do the programme from the police. He even said it was not necessary that the turret broke due to the flag. He alleged that someone else might have done the act and the party was being blamed.

Missing girl’s body found in water tank

Ujjain : The body of a girl who went missing three days ago was found in the water tank of a house under construction house in Adarsh Nagar. The girl and her family were caretakers of the house belonging to Munaf bhai.

 Jassubai, 19, had gone missing three days ago and her family had filed a missing person report at Nagjhiri police station. On Friday night, her brother Ramesh Lal noticed a bad odour from the water tank and eventually found Jassubai’s body floating in it. He immediately informed Naghiri police. The police staff recovered the body and filed a chargesheet.

According to Ramesh, the wife of another caretaker, Shiva had blamed Jassubai for having an affair with her husband.

He further said that his sister may have committed suicide due to defamation. The police have taken Shiva into custody and are looking into the matter. They have also sent the body for post mortem and said the reason behind the death will be clear only after getting post mortem reports.
